About this game

A clean game of Chinese Chess (Xiangqi).

Play single player against the computer, or two player on two phones face to face.
Open it and play. No account, no sign-up, fully offline, no ads, no daily check-ins.

NOTE ON LANGUAGE
The interface is currently in Chinese only. The board, the pieces and the rules are
standard Xiangqi, so the game is playable if you know the pieces, but menus and messages
are not yet translated.

10 AI LEVELS
From "just learned how the pieces move" up to a genuine challenge. The stronger levels use
iterative deepening with a transposition table: the engine sets traps, wins material and
plays for mate, and it will not hand you a free piece. Lower levels ease off on purpose,
which suits beginners and children.

TWO PHONES, FACE TO FACE
Join the same Wi-Fi or hotspot, create a game on one phone and search for it on the other.
If nothing is found on the local network the app falls back to a direct Wi-Fi Direct
connection, so it works without a router. Rooms can be password-protected, and a third
person can join to watch.

Everything is peer-to-peer with no server in between, so there is no network lag - and it
works on a plane, in a basement, or anywhere with poor reception.

COMPLETE RULES
Horse legs, cannon screens, blocked elephants, the flying general, self-check, perpetual
check, and draws by repetition are all implemented to standard and individually tested.

CLEAR TO READ
Moves animate, captures give haptic feedback, and check is highlighted. Selecting a piece
marks every square it can reach, with capturable pieces marked separately. Undo and restart
are always available, and dark mode follows the system setting.

PRIVACY
This app collects no personal information. It has no server and contains no third-party
analytics, advertising or crash-reporting components. During local play, data travels only
within your own network.

PERMISSIONS
- Network and Wi-Fi permissions: used only for local play; no internet servers are contacted
- Location: requested only on Android 12L and below, where the legacy Wi-Fi scanning API
requires it. The app does not obtain, use or store your location
- Vibration: haptic feedback on captures

If you just want a quiet game of chess, this board game should do.
