About this app

Japan Meteorological Corporation (JMC) announces forecasts for the blooming and full bloom dates for approximately 1,000 cherry blossom (Somei Yoshino) locations nationwide, from Hokkaido to Kagoshima, as well as Kawazu cherry blossom (Kawazu) spots in Kawazu Town (※).
* Kawazu Town, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture

■ What is "Sakura no Kimochi"?
This app shows the predicted blooming and full bloom dates for cherry blossom spots (famous cherry blossom spots) across the country, as well as the progress of cherry blossoms toward bloom (bloom meter).

It also includes features to help you enjoy cherry blossoms even more, such as "Cherry Blossom Spot Approaching Notifications" that notify you when you approach a cherry blossom spot, and a "Stamp Rally" that allows you to record the spots you've visited.

✨ Starting in 2026, we'll be adding blooming and full bloom forecasts for Kawazu cherry blossoms!

In addition to the approximately 1,000 Somei Yoshino cherry blossom locations available, you can now also view blooming and full bloom forecasts for nine Kawazu cherry blossom locations in Kawazu Town!
Kawazu cherry blossoms are an early-blooming variety that blooms from early February to early March. Their flowers are a deeper pink than Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms and last a relatively long time.
Enjoy the early arrival of spring with the app.

■What is "My Spot"?

The "Route to this Cherry Blossom Spot" button allows you to access the route guidance function of your map app.
Note: Displaying a large number of pins at once may cause slow loading times.

■Details Screen

You can register a spot to your My Spots by clicking the "Add to My Spot" button.
You can add a "Visited Stamp" to the spot by clicking the "Visited Stamp" button.
The "Visited Stamp" button becomes available when you approach a spot (*).

* This will not work unless your device's location information is always enabled.
* Once you've visited a spot, you can press it even after leaving.

■Details Screen (Spot Information)
You can check detailed information about the spot (such as whether parking is available) on the comprehensive weather website "Weather Navigator."

■My Spot (Blooming/Full Bloom Calendar)

The predicted bloom and full bloom dates for your My Spot will be marked.

■Stamp Rally
You can see the spots where you've previously stamped your visits.
Stamps are not reset even after the season ends. Collect them little by little!

■Cherry Blossom Spot Approaching Notification
Receives a notification when you approach a cherry blossom spot.
* This will not work unless "Notifications" and "Location Use" are always enabled in your device's settings.
* Notifications may not be sent depending on the device's location information acquisition status.
* Due to location information errors, notifications may be sent even outside the notification range.

■ Settings Screen
You can set the area covered by cherry blossom spot approach notifications.

[Notes]
* Forecasted blooming and full bloom dates are calculated using our proprietary prediction formula and are not guaranteed to be accurate.
* My Spot and stamp rally information will be lost if you uninstall the app.

[About Cherry Blossom Growth]
The flower buds that become cherry blossoms are formed in the summer of the year before blooming. They undergo dormancy, awakening (breaking dormancy), and growth before finally blooming.
After forming in the summer, flower buds first enter dormancy. They awaken (break dormancy) due to a certain amount of cold from fall to winter, and then grow as temperatures rise in early spring.

[About Information Availability]
Blooming Meter information is first provided each fall and is updated daily thereafter.
Forecasted blooming and full bloom dates are announced each year between December and January, and are updated weekly from mid-February onwards.
Furthermore, the above information will cease to be available for spots where the cherry blossoms have lost their "leaves" approximately one week after the predicted full bloom date.

[About Otenki Navigator]
Cherry blossom forecast information can also be found on the comprehensive weather site "Otenki Navigator."
https://s.n-kishou.co.jp/w/

Otenki Navigator not only provides cherry blossom information, but also facility information such as the addresses of famous spots and whether parking is available. You can access the page directly from the "Spot Details" button in the app, so please take a look.
