About this app

Timefolk is the local sessions marketplace: ID-verified locals for interview practice, language practice and newcomer help, always in a public place.

WHAT PEOPLE USE IT FOR

Interview practice with someone who has sat on the other side of the table. Language practice over coffee. Newcomer orientation from someone who already calls the city home: neighbourhoods, transport, where to shop, how things work. Career conversations, networking, a museum visit or a city walk.

Pick an activity, a host and a public venue and a time. Sessions run from 30 minutes to 6 hours, priced up front and paid securely in the app. The host confirms within 15 minutes; if they do not, the request is cancelled and your money comes back to you.

HOSTS

Hosts are locals who earn from what they know. They list what they offer, the languages they speak and when they are free, and set their own price within their city's range. Hosts keep 80% of their price. Card processing is paid on top and never taken from the host's share. Hosts appear under a generated username, never a legal name, and can pause their listing at any time.

TRUST AND SAFETY

Timefolk is for adults 18 and over. Every member verifies their identity with a government ID and a liveness check through our verification partner, and Timefolk never stores your document or face data. Every session takes place in a public venue, with a check-in code on arrival, an emergency information screen, and one-tap reporting and blocking. In some cities you can add an optional Guardian, a vetted professional who stays nearby in public, priced separately and shown before you pay. A safety cancellation never costs you anything. Your location is only ever an approximate area, and the app works fully if you decline to share it.

Timefolk is not for dating or romance. Romantic or sexual services are prohibited on every session and every profile.

PAYMENTS

Every payment goes through Timefolk. Prices, currency and fees are calculated and fixed when you send a request, so the total you see is the total you pay. Hosts are paid to their bank account.

WHERE

Timefolk opens country by country as each one passes its legal, payment and safety checks. If we are not open where you are yet, join the waitlist and we will tell you when we arrive.
