About this app

Reading Assistant turns any text - typed, pasted, shared from another app, or imported from a document - into speech, with natural-sounding voices and reading-comfort tools built in from the start rather than bolted on.

Read anything aloud
Paste text, import a PDF, EPUB, TXT, or HTML file, or use "Read aloud" from the text-selection menu in any other app. Reading Assistant picks up where you left off, sentence by sentence, with live highlighting so you can follow along.

Natural offline voices
Choose from on-device neural voices (Piper and Kokoro) that download once and then work completely offline - no internet needed to read, and nothing you read is ever sent anywhere. Or use your device's own built-in Text-to-Speech voices.

Built for reading comfort
- Adjustable font size, speech speed, and pitch
- Dyslexia-friendly spacing mode (wider letter and line spacing)
- Light, dark, or system theme, plus multiple color palettes
- A sleep timer for reading in bed
- "Set start point" and previous/next-sentence controls to navigate long documents precisely
- Resumes automatically where you left off

Your library, organized
Save, search, and pin your notes and imported documents. Everything is stored privately on your device - there's no account, and nothing you write or import is sent anywhere.

Reading Assistant Pro (one-time purchase, not a subscription)
- Unlock every premium neural voice - Sky, Bella, Sarah, Nicole, Adam, Michael, Emma, and George - beyond the free Amy voice
- Unlock any premium network voice your device offers
- Extra color palettes (Pastel, Apple-inspired, Retro Mac)
- Export any note as a standalone audio file
- Backup export for your whole notes library

No ads. No subscription. No account required. Pay once for Pro if you find it useful, or keep using the free tier indefinitely.
Read any text aloud with natural offline voices and dyslexia-friendly tools.
