About this app

Joutexquises is a collaborative writing game inspired by the famous exquisite corpse, a concept born in the 1920s thanks to surrealists like Jacques Prévert, Marcel Duhamel and Yves Tanguy. Their idea? Compose a sentence or a drawing together, without knowing the previous contributions. Joutexquises takes up this philosophy by offering a fun and creative space where everyone can write a story with several hands.

How does it work?

The objective of Joutexquises is simple: to create a unique text in collaboration with other players, called jousters.
• A game consists of several rounds (minimum 2).
• Each participant adds their contribution by reading the previous text(s).
• Each response is limited to 1500 characters, which requires concise and impactful writing.
• At the end of the game, an original and unique text is born, the fruit of collective creativity.

Why participate in a game?

Jousting is much more than writing. It is an encounter with others, a way of entering into an imagination different from one's own, of forging links and exploring new perspectives.
