About this app

Issues/questions/comments: jon.sevy@gmail.com

Fetch the Dead Of The Day, from thousands of concerts made available on the Internet Archive by the Grateful Dead and their fans. The Dead Of The Day app provides a simple interface to stream music from the most extensive collection of live recordings ever assembled.

At the push of a button, the app fetches and streams a concert that was played on the current date, week, or month from among the band's 30 years of touring. The simple media player interface displays the concert venue, date, and song title, and lets you navigate through the music. You can set concert preferences according to your taste - choose crystal-clear soundboard feeds or rowdy audience recordings, select your preferred years and decades, and save your favorites for repeated enjoyment. Version 2.0 supports searching for a concert based on a keyword in the title, and provides an Android Auto interface to light up your road trips.

Whether you're a die-hard Deadhead or just discovering the Dead, you're sure to enjoy thousands of hours of the best live music ever recorded.

Have you had your Dead Of The Day?

This was an excellent app for the longest time. A real gift with nothing but the music on each show's anniversary. Now it pulls up the show but just says buffering. To whoever made this, thanks for the many good years.

Hi HDT, a new version of the app compatible with newer versions of Android has been posted. In addition, there's a web-based version that should run on any platform with a web browser; you can access it here: https://jsevy.com/wordpress/index.php/dead-of-the-day-web-version/

I used it all the time, but now it's not compatible with my new phone. I don't think anyone is still keeping this app running sadly. It was my favorite way to listen to the dead

Dead of the Day now uninstalled for the third time. Won't play. Show comes up, song comes up, I sit & wait, nothing happens. Loved this app when it worked. Boo. Tighten up, bro.
