Get to know the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum & Fondation Corboud from a new perspective. Students of the University of Cologne invite you to themed tours through the collection, in which art history is not only conveyed in a classic way, but also connections to current affairs are shown.
Choose one or more short tours to accompany your visit and let yourself be guided to the respective picture via the map display. Listen to the tour or read the text on your smartphone and discover new details through additional images.
Alternatively, you can search for paintings via the picture gallery, view image data and use a direct link to navigate to the tour in which your favorite picture appears.
• Hashtag Tour:
Combines social media trends with paintings from the Middle Ages to the 19th century
• Color Layers Tour:
Tells of X-ray or infrared examinations, artistic creative processes and historical changes to the works
• Female artist tour:
Introduces women artists and their works and investigates the reason why so few women artists can be found in the history of the visual arts
• Picture story tour:
Shows similarities and differences between medieval images and modern comics
If you use the app in the museum, we ask you to bring headphones for your smartphone or turn the sound down.
This app was created in an ongoing practical seminar and was developed by students. The project is a cooperation between the Institute for Media Culture and Theater of the University of Cologne and the Friends of the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum and the Museum Ludwig e.V.
