About this app
Kalastin is an electronic notebook in which you record your fish catch and list your lures. Based on your entries, you can search for lures and lure colors that are best suited to the conditions you specify.
With the internal purchases of the application, you get additional features: catch map shows the fish spots you have recorded based on the search criteria; trolling mode makes it easier to follow the route and find a fishing spot; you can also back up your data to a location of your choice.
If you wish, the application automatically retrieves the location of the fishing spot and the weather information. Determining the location requires the use of the GPS feature of your device. Downloading map tiles and weather data requires a network connection and consumes your possible data transfer quota. The application does not share your information with others!
Fish. The fish catches you log are presented as a list, from which you can get an overview of the main points of your log, such as the season, weather condition, name of the body of water and water quality. In addition, you can see the main colors of the lure you are using, so you can see at a glance what could be the turpentine color of the day. You can trim the list view if you want to see, for example, what catches - and with which lure colors - you have caught in June or in clear water, for example. You can get more detailed information about the catches by clicking on the list. More detailed information shows the size and weight or number of fish, the lure you are using and weather information. In addition, they tell you more about the fishing spot, such as the location on the map, the depth of the tarp, the water temperature and the speed of the boat if you have trolled. You can also see what bait you have used or what weight you have used, for example when jigging.
Lures. List the lures you use so you can link the right lure to your catch when needed. When you add a lure to it, you should specify the main colors, so that in the second part of the application you will get tips about the colors of lures suitable for the time, conditions and location. The lure catalog shows the lure's picture and main information. You can take a picture with the camera while saving lure data or retrieve it from your device's picture gallery. The image must be in jpg or png format and should be taken in a 1:1 aspect ratio, in which case it best fits the space reserved for it. More detailed information includes a summary of the number of fish caught with the lure, the most common prey fish and, based on your records, the best time of year for the lure, water temperature and, where applicable, trolling speed. In addition, you will see a list of fish caught with the lure, which you can click on to see detailed information about the catch.
Tips. Get tips on which lure or which lure colors could work best. The tips are based on the records you make: the better you maintain your lure list and the more accurately you record the information about your fish catch, the better the tips you get are likely to be. You can search for tips using different search criteria: by fish species, date and time of day; based on your location, water body type and water quality; and in terms of the weather. Based on your search, you will get a list of lures with which you have caught fish within the conditions you set. In addition, you will get a summary of the colors that appear the most in these lures. The tips also show the depths and trolling speeds if you have recorded them.
As an in-app purchase, you can get a catch map that shows the places where you have caught fish according to your search criteria. By clicking on the place, you will get more detailed information about your catch.
Haavi. Record your fish catch while you fish. If you have given permission in the settings, the application keeps track of your location and weather in the background, so you only need to record catch-specific information, such as the type of fish and the lure you are using, as the turps come.
If you enjoy trolling, you can purchase trolling mode as an in-app purchase, which shows the route of your boat in addition to a larger map view. The mode also includes a function with which you mark the spot until you can write down the fish's information.
