Turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot and keep it under control.

Boring Portable WiFi gives your mobile hotspot the dashboard Android never shipped: a single power button, a live view of who is connected, how much data the session has used, and automatic limits that stop the hotspot before it drains your battery or your data plan.

WHAT YOU GET

• One-tap hotspot control — a big power button with live status, session timer and data counter.
• Timer — pick hours and minutes; the hotspot switches off by itself.
• Data limit — set an allowance in MB or GB and stop sharing when it is reached.
• Battery limit — stop the hotspot when the battery drops to the level you choose.
• Connected devices — see the devices on your hotspot, with vendor, connection time and estimated traffic.
• Real speed test — download, upload, ping and jitter measured against Cloudflare's public endpoints, with your client and server location.
• Home screen widget — turn the hotspot on or off without opening the app.
• Ongoing notification — the live session stays visible while the hotspot runs.
• Clean dark interface, no account, no sign-up.

HONEST NOTES — PLEASE READ

Android does not let ordinary apps switch tethering on and off silently. From Android 8 onwards that is reserved for system apps. So:

• On most phones, tapping the power button opens the system "Hotspot & tethering" screen, where you flip the switch. The app then detects the change and tracks the session from there.
• On Android 7 and some manufacturer ROMs the app can toggle the hotspot directly.
• The network name, password and band shown in the app follow your system hotspot settings on modern devices.
• The connected-device list is read from the system ARP table. Android 10 and newer may restrict it, in which case the list can come back empty. This is a platform limitation, not a bug.
• Per-device traffic is an estimate: the measured hotspot traffic is split across the devices online at the time. Total session data and the speed test are measured directly and are accurate.

PRIVACY

No account, no tracking, no ads. The app does not collect or upload your data. Wi-Fi and location permissions are used only to read the hotspot state and the name of the network you are connected to, on your device.
