Karesa is a pioneering social enterprise that seeks to economically empower rural micro-entrepreneurs especially women to the digital sector. The name 'Karesa' is derived from the local language and means 'gardening' which the organization does through community-based sustainable farming. Thus, Karesa assists the rural entrepreneurs in using the latest technology to market their products and services in the domestic and international markets.
At Karesa, we think that the growth of the economy should be even and sustainable and that is why we support sustainable farming. We support organic farming, thus encouraging the use of environmentally friendly methods of farming that can support the environment and still produce high yields.

At Karesa, we pride ourselves as a fair trade organization that makes sure that farmers and local producers are well paid for their products, thus supporting rural communities and the local economy. Karesa has one core value of transparency. The current system that has been developed uses QR code tracking through which the consumer can know the history of the product they are consuming, thus making the consumer and the business transparent at every stage. The use of blockchain technology that will be implemented in the future will significantly enhance the ability to track the products and increase the trust of the buyers to the sellers. Karesa links the rural entrepreneurs with socially conscious consumers and thus fosters a more sustainable and inclusive economy.
