About this game

While playing Lithuanian Kartuves, you will not only have a great time, exercise your brain, but also learn many new words. The renewed word game Kartuvės has as many as 10 word categories, starting with the classic ones - States, Animals, Capitals and ending with the exclusive ones created by us - Samogitian words, Lithuanian cities and towns, lakes, rivers and a special category for children.

The little ones can play bitter. It’s a great way for kids to learn the spelling of letters and regular words. The new version of this word game does not contain hangers or other images that are not suitable for children. We replaced them with positive characters of Debesėlis, Gėlytė and Sniegas Senis. Also, for our little ones, Kartuvės offers a separate category where you will find simple words with additional hints specifically tailored for children.

We are all different, so from now on while playing Kartuves, the player can choose the background they like, thus changing the look of the whole game. So now we can each create our own Bittersweet!

This Lithuanian word game also offers three levels of difficulty. Therefore, each player can choose the complexity that suits him. And seeing that it became too easy to change the level of difficulty and rediscover Bitter.

A very interesting and exclusively Lithuanian category in the game Kartuvės is "Samogitian Words". Do you know what "Bimbals", "Bolbės", "Ciongs" or "Isveisė" mean in Samogitian? By playing Bitter you will definitely learn! However, do not be surprised if you have to hesitate whether the words in this category are really Lithuanian.

Hangman is a classic word game that many played on paper. It is not known exactly when and who invented Bitter, but the oldest written source mentioning the game Hangman is Alice Gomme’s 1984 book on children’s games. Interestingly, television programs were even created on the principle of the bitterness of the game. Here in Brazil, in the 60s, the TV show Let’s play Hangman was shown, and in 2017, the BBC channel began broadcasting its Hangman game-based show called Letterbox. Kartuvės was also inspired by the popular TV game Wheel of Fortune. Over the years, Kartuvės has proven to be a great and timeless word game suitable for both children and adults. It’s even hard to count how many different countries his game is considered a traditional children’s game. We invite you to try the new Lithuanian Kartuves on your phone screen!
