This is an app for brides-to-be coming to Korea for international marriage and grooms waiting for them in Korea.
During the long journey to Korea, you have many questions, but there is no one to ask.
DUORANG fills that void.
▍Yuri, the older sister from your hometown who married before you
Yuri is not Korean. She was born in the same country as the bride, married a Korean 5 to 10 years earlier, and is now living in Korea—her senior.
While Koreans might tell you, "This is how Korea is," a senior from your hometown who came over first shares her experiences, saying, "I was like that at first, too."
• You don't need to know Korean. Press the microphone and ask in your own language, and Yuri will answer in her own language.
• From how to cook kimchi stew to greetings for your in-laws and stories from the days of preparing visa documents.
• Yuri is not a teacher. She will not correct your mistakes or give you tests.
▍Minsu, the senior in international marriage for the groom
The groom also has someone to talk to. Minsu is a Korean man who married a foreign wife 5 to 10 years before the groom. As someone who has experienced the language barrier, in-laws, visa documents, societal scrutiny, and differences in lifestyle habits, he speaks in Korean.
▍ She remembers me
She remembers what was learned during conversations (hometown, family, likes, current situation) and incorporates it into subsequent conversations. If you haven't opened the app for a few days, Yuri asks how you are doing first.
And all those conversations and memories remain solely within that person's mobile phone. They are not sent to a server.
▍ The couple speaks their own language
If the husband writes in Korean, it appears on the wife's screen in his own language; if the wife writes in her own language, it appears on the husband's screen in Korean. The original text is displayed alongside the translation.

▍ Real-time translated subtitles for video calls
During a 1:1 video call between a couple, each other's speech appears as subtitles in the other person's language. A call history is saved in the chat after the call ends.

The app screen and conversation appear in the native language chosen by the bride. The groom writes in Korean.
▍ Couple Connection
The groom signs up first to receive an invitation code and sends that code to the wife.
When the wife enters the code, a request appears on the groom's screen, and the connection is established only after the groom accepts.
Since the code circulates via text or voice, a confirmation step is included.
▍ Boundaries to Respect
Bride-to-be in an international marriage relies on her spouse and family for language, money, and residency status.
To ensure this app does not become a tool for control or surveillance, we have firmly established the following:
• No one can view the conversations and memories shared with Yuri and Minsu. Neither the spouse nor we can. They remain solely within the mobile phone.
• We have not included any features to secretly check the partner's location or status.
• If signs of domestic violence or isolation are detected, we will guide you to support agencies in your native language (e.g., Danuri Call Center 1577-1366). We connect only the information without making judgments or intervening.
• If you withdraw, everything is completely deleted — including conversations and memories on the phone, profiles on the server, and even the couple's chat room.
• Automatic phone backup is turned off. Even if backup is enabled, conversations and memories are not backed up.
▍ Pass
The pass is based on the couple, not individual accounts. If one person holds it, both use it.
• Subscription — This is a 1-month automatically renewing subscription. The payment is made by the groom. You can cancel at any time via 'Subscriptions' in the Play Store, and the remaining period will be used as is even after cancellation.
• Promo Code — Entering the received code into the app grants a free trial period. Since it is calculated following the period you already have, the remaining period will not decrease.
You can still log in, manage your profile, enter codes, and withdraw even without a subscription.
