About this game

YOUR NETWORK IS UNDER ATTACK. BUILD THE DEFENCE.

Subnet Defence is a hacker-themed tower defence roguelite. Threats walk the wire toward your core; you answer with eight towers — firewalls, chain arcs, honeypots, snipers, infections, intel probes — placed, upgraded, merged and repositioned in real time.

FIGHT THE MALWARE THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED

Every boss is a real piece of malware history — Morris Worm, ILOVEYOU, Slammer, WannaCry, Stuxnet — each with its documented behaviour turned into a mechanic: some replicate, some encrypt your towers, some cloak, some drain your credits. Beat them and the Field Guide fills with the real story: what it was, what it did, and what answered it.

LEARN REAL SECURITY BY PLAYING

Glitch waves are named after real attack techniques — race conditions, fork bombs, credential dumps, supply-chain attacks — each with a one-line plain-language explanation. The Field Guide's threat index, boss archive and mechanics pages double as a small, honest security primer. No jargon walls, no homework — it's a tower defence game first.

RUNS ARE MEANT TO END

From wave 25 the pressure compounds until every run eventually falls — that's the roguelite loop. Bank your cores, spend them in the Lab on permanent upgrades, and dig deeper next run. Six difficulty tracks from Practice to MANIAC, per-tower mastery, exploit abilities (EMP, Overclock, Purge), protocols, and a once-per-boss Counter-Exploit gamble under a real technique name.
