The ancient Egyptian calendar is a calendar that is used in Ancient Egypt till now, also called Coptic calendar, used by farmers for agricultural purposes and weather forecasting. It is a solar calendar consisting of 13 months, 12 of which have 30 days each, while the thirteenth month has only 5 days (6 in leap years). The Egyptian year begins on the 1st of Thout, corresponding to September 11th. The months of the year are: Thout, Paopi, Hathor, Koiak, Tobi, Mechir, Baramhat, Barmouda, Bashans, Pamoura, Epiphi, Mesori, and the intercalary month (Nasi).
