Kern is a fast, lightweight Markdown reader for Android. It renders .md files with calm typography and a clean interface — no accounts, no ads, no tracking.

Open files from the built-in file browser, from Android's system file picker, or by sharing a Markdown file from another app.

Full CommonMark plus GitHub Flavored Markdown, including:
· Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough
· Fenced code blocks with syntax highlighting for over 15 languages — Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C, C++, C#, Python, Go, Rust, Swift, Ruby, PHP, SQL, Bash, CSS, JSON, HTML/XML
· Tables, ordered and unordered lists, task lists
· Blockquotes and nested formatting
· Images and clickable links
· Footnotes

Reading:
· Three hand-tuned themes — Dark, Light, Sepia
· Adjustable font size, pinch-to-zoom scaling
· Per-app screen brightness, with optional auto-brightness
· Immersive mode — tap to hide or show the toolbar
· Scroll indicator showing your position in the document
· Selectable text

File browser:
· Scans your device for .md files
· Search by name
· Shows file size and last-modified time
· Opens files directly, or defers to the system picker

Privacy first:
· No accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads
· Works entirely offline
· Only reads the files you open
· The INTERNET permission is used only to load remote images embedded in Markdown documents
