Very straightforward to use, and great, use able features. I've just downloaded it and don't have an opportunity to calibrate it at this point, however found it immediately useful for doing relative noise surveys of our meeting rooms at work. Obviously the response and pickup pattern of the phone's mic will impact the validity of any calibration, especially for octave and third octave band SPLs. For more critical applications an actual measurement grade omnidirectional mic could be connected, or just get a "proper bought one" measurement system, but for cheap and cheerful this is a terrific little app.
Great (& free!) measuring tool. Thanks.
Most accurate meter I've ever seen! Every other dB meter app I've ever tried has been off by a significant factor, making it pretty much useless. But after comparing to known values, this one is accurate down to about 2 dBA! Great UI, awesome advanced features for people who know what they're doing.
Does measure but with significant delay The audio signal cut-off point is displayed with an average of 250ms delay off real-time metering. Smart tools Db meter has a much faster response and sampling rate. However this app is good for free and ad free product too.
Absolute crap. Cannot calibrate on Moto Droid Turbo 2. I'm an audio tech with access to accurate reference equipment, and this app isn't even close. Setting the cal at 1kHz at one range should work for all ranges, but it doesn't. Also, touch screen controls are very inconsistent and unreliable. Changing ranges is a supreme pain in the a$$.
