About this app

Munādī means "the caller" — the one who calls to prayer.

A quiet companion for the day: prayer times, the qibla, a Qur'an worth reading, a hadith library and a tasbih counter. No account, no advertising, no subscription, and nothing you need to pray or read is behind a payment.

WORKS WITHOUT A CONNECTION

Prayer times and the qibla are worked out on your phone from your location — nothing is looked up, nothing is sent. The whole Arabic Qur'an, an English translation, Qur'an search, tajwid colouring, the tasbih and the compass work with the network off, from the moment you install. Only extra translations, commentary, recitation and curated hadith need a connection.

PRAYER TIMES

• Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha, a live countdown to the next one, and the Gregorian and Hijri date together.
• 12 calculation authorities — ISNA, Muslim World League, Egyptian, Karachi, Umm al-Qura, Moonsighting Committee, Diyanet, Tehran and more — plus a Shafi'i and Hanafi setting for Asr, picked for your country and changeable.
• Adjust any prayer by a few minutes to match your masjid.
• A notification per prayer, adhan or silent, with 10 adhan voices.

THE QUR'AN

• Two ways to read: a 604-page Madani mushaf turned like a printed book, justified on both margins with illuminated borders and medallions, or a verse-by-verse list with the translation beneath each ayah.
• Five Arabic typefaces and readings: Uthmani, Madinah, Kashida, IndoPak and Warsh. The last two are different texts, not just different fonts.
• Tajwid colouring worked out on the device, simple or detailed, with a legend.
• Five translations and 25 commentaries across more than a dozen languages.
• 12 reciters, with playback speed, verse and surah repeat, background play, lock-screen controls and word-by-word marking where timings exist.
• Offline search by meaning, by a reference such as 2:255, or by page number.
• Bookmarks, a ribbon that reopens where you stopped, and notes on any verse — gathered on one Saved screen, exportable as a typeset PDF.
• A khatmah plan over 30 days, 60 days or a date you choose, redone daily so a missed day does not move your finish date.

HADITH

• Eleven books: the seven canonical collections — Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, Muwatta Malik — a curated topical collection, and three written for Munādī.
• Read chapter by chapter, with a table of contents and search inside each book.
• The authenticity grade on every narration, and a primer on the collections and grading.
• Progress, a resume point, a streak, hearts, ribbons and notes.

TASBIH AND QIBLA

• Count by tapping the bead or sliding anywhere on screen. Beads drop and cascade on a real strand. Targets of 33, 34, 99, 100 or none, and 12 bead materials.
• A live compass to the Kaaba: the needle settles and the phone buzzes within five degrees. Three instruments: Brass, Jade and Star.

SEVENTEEN LANGUAGES

English, Arabic, Urdu, Indonesian, Bengali, Turkish, French, Persian, Malay, Hausa, Swahili, Spanish, Russian, German, Hindi, Pashto and Tamil, with right-to-left layout where needed. Prayer notifications and the three in-house books are still English.

PRIVACY

There is no account, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing to lose. Your location is used on the phone for prayer times and the qibla, never sent to us. Settings, notes, bookmarks, counts and reading position stay on the device and go when you uninstall.

Munādī sends one anonymous report: which features were opened, in broad bands, how the app is set up, and your country and state. It carries no identifier of any kind, and can be switched off on the first screen or in Settings. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics.

The curated hadith collection needs a connection each time, a condition of its licence. On Android the full adhan is streamed at prayer time; the notification sound ships in the app.
