About this app

Farmers, extension workers, students, and field agents are the expected users of PesTest. The app helps users in diagnosing crop health issues. The broad features of the app are explained below.

Training
Several videos are presented on PesTest. Going through the videos can help users understand the process of diagnosis. The intent is to make users capable of describing the symptoms of damage observed on a plant and associating them with a causal group. The videos are presented in a simple language with appropriate visuals. Visuals are inspired by the Plantwise Program of CABI.

Test
Mobile apps, like eSAP, use the diagnostic logic presented in PesTest. Access to these apps is limited to pre-registered users who are trained in performing the diagnosis. PesTest has facilities for training and testing the pre-registered users.

Although any user can get trained with PesTest, it is only users registered by our partner organisations who can take the Test. A Test comprises of a set of 60 questions. Each question needs to be answered within 30 seconds. A user needs to get at least 40 questions correct to pass the Test. A user has five attempts to pass.

Certificate
A Certificate shows up when a user passes a Test and gets the approval of our partner organization. This certificate can be downloaded and shared. Scanning the QR code on the certificate reveals many relevant details.

Access to apps
Qualified users can seek access to our partner applications (like eSAP). Users need to submit their working locations for seeking access. After submission, a message shows up to indicate if the user was granted/denied access.
