The app itself is fine. It does what it's supposed to. The one star is for the detectors themselves. I burned some food when cooking and filled the house with smoke. There was no fire, but the alarms wouldn't and couldn't be silenced until after all the smoke was cleared out. I hit the silence button on the detector and the app. It kept alarming anyway due to too much smoke. Not OK or helpful when there isn't a real problem. These are going in the trash as I shop around for better ones.

the communication interface is terrible. I can't check the status when I want. I have to wait until it reports the temperature and flood condition. There needs to be more controls available like freeze temperature warning threshold. I don't want to get a warning when the temperature is 37 degrees. I'm only concerned when it gets to about 30 degrees. The result is a bunch of nuisance alarms... usually in the middle of the night which wakes me up. Incredibly frustrating! You can do better.

It just sent me an email notification saying there was a fire, and then a minute later sent another saying 'This was a test'. Are you kidding me. That is NOT okay. And the app notification came in even later, so I thought there was another notification saying there was a fire. Why would you not send the 'test' notification BEFORE sending the one about a fire so people don't call 911? Update: I never ran any test in the first place; it did it on its own. I hadn't touched the app in months.
