KidShield Family is a transparent parental control app designed for parents to install on their child's device with the child's full knowledge. Using Android system services and DNS filtering, it helps keep children safe online while keeping parents informed.

This is a parental monitoring tool. It is installed by a parent on the child's device with the child's knowledge. KidShield Family is compliant with Google Play's Monitoring Applications policy and is declared as a monitoring tool.

PERMISSIONS AND WHY WE USE THEM:

Accessibility Service: KidShield uses Android's Accessibility Service to monitor which apps are open on the child's device, block restricted apps, enforce screen time schedules, and detect harmful on-screen content. This service is used solely for child safety. No passwords, banking details, or personal messages are captured beyond what parents configure for safety alerts.

VPN Service: KidShield uses a local VPN connection to filter web content and block access to harmful websites (adult, gambling, and malware sites). DNS queries are processed on-device. No internet traffic is routed or logged through external servers.

Background Location: KidShield collects the child's GPS location in the background (even when the app is not in use) to provide real-time tracking and geo-fence alerts to parents. Location data is sent securely to the parent's KidShield account and is never sold or shared with third parties.

Notification Listener: With parental configuration, KidShield monitors incoming notifications from messaging apps to detect harmful content and send safety alerts to parents.

KidShield Family is NOT a stalkerware tool. The child is aware the app is installed. All monitoring is configured by the parent and visible to the family.
