About this app

Kihya Memo is a lightweight, offline-first notepad built around files you can keep.

Notes are stored as UTF-8 TXT or Markdown files rather than in a proprietary database. There is no Kihya account, required login, or memo server. Google Drive sync is optional.

REAL FILES

• Create, edit, rename, move, and share TXT and Markdown files
• Browse the Kihya Memo storage provider in the Android system file app
• Optionally sync original files through a visible app folder in your own Google Drive
• Open TXT and MD files from other apps
• Import photos, PDFs, archives, and other files with system pickers
• Export the visible folder tree as a ZIP without trash or private history
• Recently Deleted in the folder list, with original-location restore and permanent deletion
• Optional biometric or device-lock protection for Recently Deleted
• Save, discard, or keep editing when leaving an unsaved note
• Move, rename, trash, and browse past versions from the title menu
• Local pre-save version history and recovery drafts after an unexpected termination
• A resizable Quick Note widget that opens the editor and keyboard immediately

MARKDOWN WITHOUT THE WEIGHT

• Switch between source editing and native preview
• Toggle task checkboxes directly in preview
• Tools for headings, lists, bold, italic, strike, code, and links
• Convert rich-text paste into clean Markdown
• Preview local images and open clearly marked local-file links
• Optional marker-texture highlighting and five bundled Korean typefaces

FAST ORGANIZATION

• A dedicated manager for dragging, renaming, moving, and safely removing nested folders
• File-name and full-content search
• Native phone navigation and three-pane or full-screen tablet editing

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

• No Kihya sign-up or required login
• No ads or cross-app tracking
• Google Drive connects only when you choose it; notes are never sent to a Kihya server
• Firebase usage events never include note text, file names, searches, or Google account details
• Access is limited to local files and files the user explicitly selects
• Normal history and recovery drafts stay on device; pre-overwrite sync text is also protected in hidden app data in your Drive
