About this app

Whether you’re operating during ARRL Field Day, chasing contacts for POTA, calling CQ in your ham shack, or just checking FCC rules on the go, this app gives you a complete and easy-to-use reference to the official US ham radio bands.

Designed with clarity and speed in mind, this mobile bandplan fieldguide is built for hams of all license classes—Technician, General, and Extra. It’s more than just a chart: it’s a visual and functional tool that helps you understand your operating privileges based on your class and location (ITU Region 2 – United States). Many of the band specific part 97 rules are included.

šŸŽÆ Why Choose This App?
• Great for everyday operators and weekend contesters alike
• Keeps you compliant with FCC laws and frequency rules
• Useful during emergency communications, ARRL events, and field operations
• Perfect for learning band privileges, if you’re studying for your Technician or General license
* Great if you are into Short Wave Listening, SWL

šŸ”‘ Features for Every Ham Operator:
• Instant reference to the US ham radio band plan – Quickly see what frequencies you can use, sorted by license class
• Graphical band charts – Visual layouts of each amateur radio band make it easy to find your segment and understand frequency allocations
• Current band and RF conditions - Tables and LUF and MUF maps
• License-based band plans – Tailored displays for Technician, General, and Extra licensees or any of the legacy license classes (Novice and Advanced)
• ARRL Gentleman’s Agreements – Includes voluntary usage suggestions adopted by the ARRL to promote smooth operation
• Support for seasonal contests – Great for Field Day or Parks on the Air, POTA, when you need fast access to band data to know where you are allowed to operate in a congested band.
• US callsign lookup – Quickly identify hams by their callsign using the built-in lookup using our callsign database.
• Includes additional radio services – View allocated bands and channels for non-ham services like:
ā€ƒā€¢ CB (Citizens Band Radio)
ā€ƒā€¢ FRS (Family Radio Service)
ā€ƒā€¢ GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service)
ā€ƒā€¢ Maritime Radiofacsimile broadcasts
ā€ƒā€¢ MURS (Multi-Use Radio Service)
ā€ƒā€¢ NOAA Weather Radio

Easy to use. Nice to be able to filter by license class. Once I realized I could click on a band and bring up lots more information the app is very useful. Many calling frequencies and digital mode frequencies are listed but some bands have more info than others. Different regions may have different plans and that may limit what is listed. Overall, a very useful and easy to use app!

Thank you for your review Jack. I will see if I can improve how others discover that the bands are clickable. As far as regions go, this app is currently only servicing ITU Region 2 (Americas), I will consider expanding to the others. If you have any other feedback or suggestions, email me at feedback.karson.kimbrel@gmail.com .

I opted for the premium flavor. Great job. My preference, however, would be for the chart to be in the reverse sequence. It just seems logical and more intuitive to show the high frequencies on top, followed by the low bands. That’s how I think about the ham bands, but, hey, that’s just my ham brain. High is up, low is down. Maybe others prefer the chart as is? What better reason for this obliging developer to add a Chart Sequence Option in the settings. That would be great. Just sayin’. 73

Thanks for the suggestion, I got around to adding this a few months ago. Let me know if you have any other feedback or suggestions. I am now in a position to act on them.

I like the app the way it was. It used to informed you what modes you could use on what bands. It has been this way for years. Now the developer added paid toys that I don't want, and I don't seem to be able to get to what I used it for in the first place. Now you must navigate through options before you can open it up.
