About this app

KITE Sampler is a free sound sampler and groovebox for Android devices. Load your own sounds, chop them on the waveform, and sequence them into a beat. A touch-first workflow, not a desktop interface squeezed onto a touchscreen.

The free version is not a trial. No time limit, no watermark, no account, no export lock. This is a free sampler that stays free: chop samples, slice samples, sequence them, arrange them and bounce the result out as often as you want.

Whether you are flipping a loop, building a drum kit from scratch or turning field recordings into an instrument, KITE keeps sampling, sequencing and arranging in one sampler app.

01 — WAVEFORM EDITOR
A touch-optimized sample chopper. Zoom in, set markers, slice and trim. Fast and precise.

02 — STEP SEQUENCER
Place kicks, snares, hi-hats and percussion in seconds. It is a sample sequencer: every step plays your own chops, not a preset library. A chop-based step sequencer app, designed for finger-first production rather than adapted from a mouse-and-keyboard workflow. The fastest way to get a groove going on a touchscreen.

03 — SECTION ARRANGER
No drawing lines. Chain patterns into Sections and assign Effect Scenes to blocks.

HOW IT WORKS — FROM CHOP TO BEAT

1. LOAD A SOUND
Record straight into KITE or import a file. Anything is fair game: a vinyl sample, a voice note, a field recording, a synth line.

2. CHOP IT
Open the waveform editor (the active sample from main menu or click the gear icon on a track), zoom in and set your markers. Slice on transients or place them by hand. Every chop becomes a playable pad.

3. SEQUENCE IT
Tap kicks, snares and your own chops into the step sequencer. You can define a slice with the Slice dropdown! A pattern takes seconds. Chain patterns into Sections when the idea grows.

4. DEFINE IT
Set attack and so on for the active selected Sample in the Property Editor.

5. SHAPE IT
Assign Effect Scenes per block, then patch effects and route samples between engines in the scene graph (Mobile Pro).

6. TAKE IT WITH YOU
Samples, slices, mapping and routing all save into one .kite file. That same file opens in KITE on desktop as a VST3, CLAP or AUv3 plugin — so a sketch on the tablet is never a dead end.
