Speak Pacific is an educational resource designed to provide a brief introduction to Pacific language and culture.

The App introduced you to seven Pacific languages,
- Fӓeag Rotuḁm (Rotuman language)
- Gagana Samoa (Samoan language)
- Gagana Tokelau (Tokelauan language)
- Lea Faka-Tonga (Tongan language).
- Te Reo Māori Kūki ‘Airani (Cook Islands Māori Language)
- Vosa vaka-Viti (Fijian Language)
- Vagahau Niue (Niue Language)


Recognising that language and culture are intricately interwoven, for each of the languages included are:
- An introduction video to the language and cultural context
- The Lord’s Prayer
- Greetings
- Pronunciation
- Activities to share new words and phrases
- A customisable introduction to practise and share.

Please enjoy this brief introduction to the languages of the Pacific and share what you have learnt with work colleagues, family and friends.

We hope you then go on to register for a full course where we will introduce you to concepts of prayer, surroundings, life events, and ceremonies, as well as how to pronounce vowels and common phrases.

Ratings and reviews

I've been using Speak Pacific, and it's undeniably a great app for preserving native languages in the Pacific. However, I noticed that some Island countries like Tuvalu and Kiribati are missing. It's crucial to include them for a comprehensive experience. Despite this, the app's impact on teaching young children their native language is impressive. I rate it 4 stars out of 5, hoping for the inclusion of more Island countries to strengthen its cultural reach.

This is a very unique app considering that it is really one of a kind. I truly appreciate the fact that this app is specifically designed with an idea in mind to keep Polynesian and Malanesian language known. It has a really user friendly format and good design. The only one complaint I may have about it is, cook island Maori and new zealand Maori although similar still have differences. I would like to see a understanding for the different dialects in Maori.

Some of this translation is in the mangaian dialect and not rarotongan, making it incorrect. Rarotonga being the main island and consisting of 15 other islands as well as different dialect makes learning te reo kuki airani challenging in my opinion.
