Mamutjitji Story is the first-ever app in the Ngalia language, and an interactive resource that takes a unique approach to connecting today’s youth with ancient ways.
Mamutjitji is a Ngalia language name for an invertebrate also known as the antlion, the larval form of the lacewing fly.
Using bi-lingual narration, animation, games, workbooks and song, students learn about the Mamutjitji, its lifecycle, its feeding habits and its environment.
This app was produced as a joint initiative with Support from WA’s Ngalia Heritage Research Council, Walkatjurra Cultural Centre, CSIRO and Australia’s National Science Agency.
Sponsored by Leonora Shire; MLG’s Murray and Michelle Leah; Dilji Corporation’s Dilji Digital Innovation Hub; and Kiwa Digital.
