About this app

The bus is late and the grid is empty. Ten across, ten down, and a column of numbers down the left that means nothing yet. Then you notice the row marked 8 on a ten-wide grid, and you realize the middle six squares are filled no matter where that block sits. You fill them. Suddenly the third column has somewhere to start.

That is the whole game. No timer is counting, nothing is waiting for you, and the bus can take as long as it likes.

— what a nonogram is

Every number is one unbroken run of filled squares, in the order given. A row marked 3 1 holds three together, at least one gap, then one on its own. The numbers along the top do the same for the columns. Every square belongs to a row and a column at once, and that overlap is where the picture comes from.

— what's in it

→ Starters — six five-by-fives. A heart, an arrow, a cup, a cross, a key and a slope. Two minutes each, less once you have the hang of it.
→ Middling — six eight-by-eights. A cat, a boat, an umbrella, a mug, a bell and an anchor.
→ Big ones — four ten-by-tens. A house, a rocket, a whale and a guitar. Bring a cup of something.

— how it plays

Two tools and nothing else. Fill puts a square in the picture. Mark puts a cross on one you have ruled out, which is how you keep from counting the same square twice. Tap a square again to take it back. Restart wipes the board and costs you nothing, which matters more than it sounds — some pictures only fall into place on a second pass.

The moment the last square lands correctly the board tells you, with a short buzz and the picture sitting there finished.

— what it remembers

Solved puzzles keep a tick in Packs, and Progress shows a bar per pack. There is a How to play section with six short pieces of technique, including the two that unlock most stuck grids: work from the certainties, and cross out what cannot be.

All of it is stored on the phone. There is no account, no leaderboard, nobody to compare yourself to, and no network permission in the manifest.
Sixteen nonograms. Read the numbers, uncover the picture.
