About this app

Mental Math Trainer helps your child confidently perform mental arithmetic. The unique feature: each problem is spoken aloud and doesn't appear as numbers on the screen. Just like at school when the teacher dictates a mental math problem, your child hears the problem, remembers the numbers, and calculates it mentally.

WHY LISTENING IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN READING

Many children read numbers from the screen and simply type in the answer. True mental math requires this step. When a problem is spoken aloud, your child has to listen, memorize the numbers, and work through the calculation process mentally. This is precisely the skill children need in elementary school and in everyday life.

WHAT YOUR CHILD PRACTICES

• The multiplication tables (1x1 and 1x2), step by step

• All four basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

• Plus, minus, times, and division within the number range up to 10,000

• Calculation strategies from the Bavarian curriculum (LehrplanPLUS): doubling, commutative property, auxiliary problems, core operations, place value decomposition, inverse operations, and division with remainder

This way, the multiplication tables aren't simply memorized, but understood. The multiplication tables end up in their head, not on paper. Your child learns, for example, how to solve a difficult problem using a simple auxiliary problem.

SEVEN LEVELS, AROUND 1,000 PROBLEMS

The app grows with your child. Level 1 is suitable for the end of first grade, and the subsequent levels accompany second, third, and fourth grade. Each problem includes a solution process, so your child not only sees the answer but also understands how to calculate it. This way, your child can practice math for a few minutes every day.
