About this app

You only need one device to make and see 3D with CrossCam, but if you have two devices you can connect them using CrossCam to capture from both of them simultaneously.

CrossCam is the easiest way to make 3D pictures. The pictures you make with it are 3D just like 3D movies or VR but without any glasses or headset needed! To see the 3D, all you have to do is cross your eyes carefully and CrossCam even has a built in tutorial to teach you how to do it. CrossCam even lets you see your 3D picture before it's complete so you can tell how it will turn out in real time!

- full and instant control over the overall depth and quality of the picture
- automatic alignment of pictures
- no need to have an expensive setup with two cameras
- no more capturing in the field and just hoping it works out in post when you get back home
- no more aligning with "ghosts" of previous captures
- no more trudging through uploading to your computer to stitch, align, and process
- built-in editing for fixing misalignment and preserving the stereo window
- on screen help to make sure you get the images on the right sides every time

While developing CrossCam I've been bringing it along on several scenic trips and I'm sure glad I've had it with me. Thanks to CrossCam, the memories I have from those trips are now preserved in stunning 3D. I can confidently say it makes 3D photography a breeze and I hope it helps you too!

If you have any trouble, questions, or feedback, please email me@kra2008.com. I'm happy to coach, fix bugs, and hear your ideas.

PERMISSIONS NOTE: When using paired operation, CrossCam may ask for location permission and for location services to be turned on on the primary device in order to connect to the secondary device. This is simply an Android requirement and is completely outside my control. CrossCam does not actually USE your location in any way, but because the act of searching for (and finding) nearby devices could theoretically be used to roughly locate you, CrossCam requires permission to access your location. CrossCam still collects no personal information about you, and requires no email address or username to use or anything else, so there is no way to connect your location data to your identity even if it were collected.

Everything I need, often before I even know I need it! Seriously tho, it just keeps getting better. And I just discovered that new "pinch to explore" synchronized zoom and pan feature, frikken sweet. I've been trying to find time to code up a little HTML5 app to do exactly that, now i don't have to! Hands down the best app I've ever installed on my phone.

This app makes taking 3D photos super easy. I was initially skeptical about the need for an app to do this but this app not only makes the process fast, it also does some cropping and aligning to make sure the photos come out way better than I could ever make them by manually editing two photos next to each other. I just wish it could use flash. I know flash will result in subpar 3D but the option (with a warning about how that will affect the quality) would be nice.

Poor; indeed useless.Your blurb looks good, but this doesn't cut the cake at all. After autoaligning my pair, the app just shuts down, and I can find no evidence of the images having been saved in any way, offline on my phone in a directory, or online. I will uninstall, and use a different app. A photo app which doesn't photo isn't a photo app.

Hi Mark, sorry for the late reply, but I was fixing some issues that users had emailed me about, which resulted in the recent release of a new version. I also looked through my crash log data but couldn’t find anything that looked like your device. If you’d like to give CrossCam another shot please email me@kra2008.com and we can get this fixed.
