Shravan, Kirtan, Remembrance is the place of Ekadashi as the tenth Bhaktianga after Adi Navadha Bhakti. This tithi is called Harivasar. Therefore, the supreme usefulness of observing Ekadashi Vrat for all those who want to gain Bhakti is described in various Puranas. Ekadashi Tithi is the wish granter of all. By observing this vow, all kinds of sins are annihilated, all happiness and love of Lord Krishna is granted. Every person between eight and eighty years of age irrespective of male or female should observe the holy Ekadashi Vrat with devotion.
This Ekadashi Vrat Mahatmya Eps gives the rules for observing Ekadashi and the importance of all Ekadashi Vrats by reciting them we can gain spiritual progress.
Twenty-six Ekadashis occur in a year. Usually twenty four Ekadashi in twelve months. These are-
1. Uppanna Ekadashi - 2. Mokshada Ekadashi
3. Sophala Ekadashi, - 4. Putrada Ekadashi
5. Shattila Ekadashi - 6. Joy Ekadashi
7. Vijaya Ekadashi - 8. Amalaki Ekadashi
9. Papamochni Ekadashi - 10. Kamada Ekadashi
11. Baruthini Ekadashi - 12. Mohini Ekadashi
13. Apara Ekadashi - 14 Nirjala Ekadashi
15. Yogini Ekadashi - 16. Shayan Ekadashi
17. Kamika Ekadashi - 18. Holy Ekadashi
19. Annada Ekadashi - 20. Parivartini or Parsva Ekadashi
21. Indira Ekadashi - 22. Pashankusha Ekadashi
23. Rama Ekadashi - 24. Utthan Ekadashi
