About this app

Bracket is a barcode scanner and a QR code designer in one app. Most tools do one half of that job well. Bracket does both.

SCAN
Thirteen symbologies decode: QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar, ITF, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A and UPC-E. Read them with the camera, from a photo, from the first page of a PDF, from your clipboard, or from a file another app shares in. Pinch to zoom, tap to focus, switch cameras, use the torch.

SMART ACTIONS
Open a link, join Wi-Fi, call, write an email or a text, open a map, save a contact, add a calendar event. Contacts and events go to your system's own editor, so Bracket needs no access to your contacts or your calendar.

LINK SAFETY
Eight checks run on the device on every scanned link: IP-address hosts, punycode lookalikes, brand-lookalike domains, suspicious top-level domains, plain HTTP, known shorteners, unusually deep subdomains, and credentials buried in the address. You can also match against URLhaus, ThreatFox, PhishTank or your own blocklist. Those lists download to your phone and matching runs locally, so the link you scanned is never transmitted. Warnings are informational and never block you.

CREATE
Fourteen templates in six groups cover links, email, SMS, phone, contact cards, calendar events, locations, Wi-Fi, plain text and four social profiles. Fill in fields instead of typing raw payloads.

Then design it: foreground and background colors, four module shapes, three eye frames and three eye centers styled independently, fifteen QR-art silhouettes, a center logo, a caption frame, and error correction per code.

EXPORT
PNG, SVG and PDF. The vector formats are built from the code's own geometry rather than traced from a picture, so they scale to any size for print. Shape frames and caption frames are PNG only, and the picker says so.

Bracket then decodes its own rendered design and tells you whether it still scans. An at-risk export asks you to confirm.

VOLUME WORK
Turn a CSV into a ZIP of individually named PNGs, for events, packaging, signage and asset tags. Or sweep continuously: duplicates rejected, up to 500 per session held until you confirm, then exported as CSV. On Android a confirmed batch can also land in a folder you choose.

HISTORY
Everything scanned and made sits in one list, searchable across payload text, notes and tags. Long-press a row to start selecting. Favorites, tags and notes, multi-select delete with undo, and clear-all behind a single confirmation. Export the lot as a ZIP holding two CSV files, two JSON files and your settings.

PRIVACY
No account, no analytics, no cloud sync. Your scans and the codes you make stay on the device. Exactly two kinds of network call exist: the purchase check, and the threat-list downloads if you switch them on. Saved Wi-Fi entries hide the password. It requests no location permission of any kind.

INCLUDED AND UNLOCKED
Scanning, every smart action, all fourteen templates, all three export formats and 50 history entries are included. One purchase unlocks the designer controls, bulk generation from CSV, continuous scan mode, and unlimited history with favorites, tags and notes. No subscription.

83 languages, including the shortcuts and permission prompts the system draws. Right-to-left tested, every screen checked at 200% text size.
