Bracket is a QR code scanner and designer for Android.
Most QR scanner apps stop at scanning. Bracket does both halves of the
job well: a fast, accurate scanner with smart actions and safety
checks for everyday use, and a designer-grade generator with logo,
color, and shape control for events, signage, and small business.
All of it runs on your device. No accounts. No analytics. No ads. No
cloud sync.
Scan: Point your camera at any QR code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, Code 128, EAN, UPC, or other 1D and 2D barcode. Bracket recognizes the format,
decodes the payload, and tells you what to do with it.

- Continuous scan mode for inventory work: queue up many codes in a
row, export the list as CSV

Smart Actions: When you scan something, Bracket shows you what kind of payload it is and offers the right actions:
- URLs: preview before opening, with safety checks
- WiFi networks: connect with one tap
- Contact cards: save directly to your phone's contacts
- Calendar events: add to your calendar
- Locations: open in your maps app
- Phone numbers, SMS, and email: compose with one tap
URL Safety: Every scanned URL is checked against common phishing patterns: lookalike domains, IP-address links, punycode tricks, suspicious
domains, and credential-harvesting URL structures. Bracket shows you
what it found before you decide whether to open the link.
The default safety check is fully on-device. Bracket also offers an
optional check against community threat intelligence sources. This is off by default. If you turn it on, you choose whether to do offline checks against a daily-refreshed list or per-URL online lookups. We explain exactly what gets sent where before you enable it.
Design: Bracket generates QR codes for URLs, WiFi networks, contact cards,
calendar events, locations, email addresses, SMS, phone numbers, and
plain text. Each payload type has a structured form so you fill in
fields, not raw text.
When you want more than a plain black-and-white codes:
- Custom foreground and background colors
- Module shapes: square, rounded, dot, or diamond
- Eye (corner) patterns styled independently of the data modules
- Embedded center logo with automatic error-correction adjustment
- Frame with caption text, useful for signage and menus
- Pretty shape frames (heart, bunny, cat, cloud, etc.)
- Export as PNG, SVG, or PDF
Bulk: Generate hundreds of codes at once from a CSV file. Useful for events,
product packaging, signage runs, name tags, and small business work. The output is a ZIP of named PNGs ready to print, share, or hand off.
History: Every scan and every code you generate is saved to your local
history, with search, tags, favorites, and notes. Export the whole
history as CSV or JSON anytime. Delete individual entries or clear
everything in one tap.
Privacy: Bracket runs entirely on your device. Your scans never leave your
phone. Your generated codes never leave your phone. We do not collect
analytics. We do not have a server. There is no Bracket account.
The only network calls Bracket makes are: purchase verification
through Google Play Billing, and the optional URL safety checks
described above if you choose to enable them.
