Probability Labyrinth is a card-battle roguelike game where you can "experience" probability paradoxes.
Monty Hall, the Birthday Paradox, the False Positive Problem—"those problems" you've seen in textbooks become cards in your hand. Draw your fate, choose doors, and use probability as your weapon to conquer nine rooms.
[Eight Probability Paradoxes]
Monty Hall Problem, Birthday Paradox, Bertrand's Box, Simpson's Paradox, False Positive Problem, Two Envelopes Problem, Galileo's Dice, HH vs HT. Four attack cards and four support cards each have their own roles. Probability fluctuations of ±5% (±10% depending on fate) occur in each room, so even the same card will yield different results each time.
[A Swing of Fate]
At the start of the run, roll the dice and choose one of two fates. Blessing of Probability (Success Rate +3%), Curse of Probability (Failure Damage +1), Wind of Bias (Increased Fluctuation), Mark of Trials (Enemy Damage +20%), Law of Convergence (Success Rate Capped at 80%), Path of Tranquility (No Fluctuation). Choosing a negative fate grants a score bonus.
[Four Doors]
Each room offers two doors to choose from. Door of Fierce Battle (Card Damage +25%, Guaranteed Reward), Door of Consecutive Attacks (Use 2 Cards, 2nd Turn +2 Bonus), Door of Healing (Counterattack -1 + HP +6 Recovery After Battle), Door of Observation (See Dice Roll Beforehand, but Limited to 2 Cards in Hand).
[Enemy Weaknesses and Resistances]
The five types of enemies have weaknesses and resistances based on card categories. Use conditional probability-based strategies to exploit the goblin's weakness, and trial-based strategies to defeat the dragon. The final boss, "King of Probability," has random weaknesses and resistances each time, with hints appearing from Room 8. Prepare yourself before challenging him.
【5 Builds】
Strategist (Card self-damage -1 + Damage multiplier halved for fierce battles), Gambler (Cards with a success rate of 60% or less +3%), Analyst (Self-damage on success -2), Paradoxist (Event occurrence rate +8%, Treasure Chest and Merchant cards become Lv2), Chain Master (Pay-to-play, next attack success rate +8% after successful support card). Choose according to your play style.
【4 Difficulty Levels】
Normal (HP 80, Damage multiplier 1.0x), Hard (HP 55, 1.2x, +30), Expert (HP 45, 1.4x, +70), Extreme (HP 45, 1.7x, +120). Higher difficulty levels offer larger score bonuses. Ranked S to D.
【Strategic Result Selection】
After defeating an enemy, choose between "Greedy" (50% chance of adding a card, 3 damage on failure, enemy damage in the next room +2) or "Safe Pass" (HP +5, probability change in the next room resets). If you fail, you can either "endure" to return the card (only if you fail after defeating an enemy, the failure damage will carry over to the next room) or "cut your losses" to recover half the damage. Even if you fail a card with less than 50% HP in normal difficulty, you can choose to endure/cut your losses once per room, thanks to the recovery design.
[Replayability Elements]
- Save up to 20 score histories in the Adventure Log
- Random events (HP +12 at the healing spring, 5-15 damage from the cursed trap, additional cards from treasure chests, exchange with the dark merchant for 15 HP)
- Card level-up (drawing the same card automatically merges it to Lv2. Success rate +10%, attack power +3, self-damage reduction)
- Enemy appearance order changes every run with a shuffle within the zone
He who controls probability controls the labyrinth.
