About this app

AVM is the official Lanek SPA app for controlling and monitoring the AVM (Advanced Voice Monitor) device, a voice assessment tool designed for healthcare professionals, speech-language pathologists, and clinical teams.

The app connects wirelessly via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to the AVM hardware, allowing you to configure data capture, start and stop recordings, and analyze features, all from your phone.

HOW IT WORKS

Bluetooth Scanning and Connection
Search for nearby AVM devices, select the corresponding device, and establish a connection. You can customize and save the name of each device for easy identification in future connections.
Real-Time Control Panel
Once connected, view the device status (name and battery level) and control its operation:

• Activate or deactivate the connection to the device.

• Start and stop recording assessment sessions.

• Adjust the microphone gain to capture the acoustic signal.

• Adjust the sampling rate according to the type of assessment.

• Adjust the accelerometer gain to record the movement associated with vocal cord vibration.
• Save your settings to reuse them in future sessions.

WHO IS IT FOR?

AVM is designed for healthcare and voice professionals (speech therapists, singers, researchers) who use Lanek's AVM hardware to evaluate voice activity using acoustic and vibration signals, non-invasively and in real time.

PRIVACY AND SECURITY

AVM was designed with privacy by default:

• It does not collect or store names, emails, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information.

• It does not send data to external servers or the cloud: all communication occurs locally and directly between the phone and the AVM device via Bluetooth.

• Bluetooth and location permissions are requested only because the Android operating system requires them for scanning BLE devices, and they are not used to track the user's actual location.
