About this app

Lingary is a language tutor you talk to. Not a course, not flashcards on a timer: a conversation that notices where you struggle and builds your practice out of that.

HOW IT WORKS

Talk to it. Voice or text, switchable mid-session. Interrupt it and it stops, the way a person would.

It finds the gaps. Every session ends in a report: what you got wrong, what you avoided saying, how complex your sentences actually were.

You practise them. Missions are generated from your own mistakes: grammar, vocabulary, synonyms, pronunciation, cross-language parallels, verb drills.

Your level moves. The first session is a conversation, not a quiz. It settles on a CEFR level from A0 to C2 and re-pitches how it speaks to you as you improve.

OFFLINE MODE

Download a model and the whole loop runs on the phone: speech recognition, the tutor and a neural voice. Large models need a recent phone with room to spare.

BRING YOUR OWN KEY

No subscription and no account. In online mode Lingary talks directly to an AI provider you choose (OpenAI, Google, Groq, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Mistral or your own endpoint) with an API key you get yourself, billed to your account with them. Before anything is sent, the app asks for your permission. Offline mode needs no key at all.

YOUR DATA

No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Conversations, vocabulary and progress stay on your phone. Our own server only delivers the Basics courses and receives the reports you choose to send.

What’s new

Swiping a row only shows its actions; it no longer opens the item. The speaker toggle keeps the tutor's role and mission. With an OpenAI key, the tutor speaks with OpenAI's newer voices and your speech is transcribed by its newer model. Pronunciation is no longer scored from text alone. The offline model runs on the processor alone, which fixes a crash on some phones.
