About this app

The LaRoomy app is an easy and efficient way to implement Bluetooth control in embedded projects.

Minimize effort:
You don't have to worry about implementing and developing a transmission protocol. The LaRoomy app in combination with a provided framework, the LaRoomy API, takes care of that for you.

Save time:
Integrating a functional Bluetooth control doesn't have to take a lot of time. With the LaRoomy app, it can be done in minutes.

Be flexible:
Due to the adaptive concept, the LaRoomy app adjusts it's user interface to the properties of your device. No unnecessary controls are displayed.

With what can the app be used?
Any board with Bluetooth LE capabilities can be used with this app. Whether it is an Arduino Nano 33 IoT, Arduino Nano 33 Ble, Espressif Esp32 or any other module. Frameworks are available for many platforms and the number of supported platforms is constantly expanding. Currently supported platforms are: Atmel SAM, Espressif32, Nordic nRF52 and STM32. The libraries are based on the Arduino framework.
For other platforms or for reasons of efficiency an own implementation of the transmission protocol can be made. The required documentation is provided on the LaRoomy website.

What is the concept behind?
Different peripheral Bluetooth-devices require specific user interfaces which are tailor-made for the particular hardware of the device. Therefore a purpose-made app is required for every device. The LaRoomy app provides a dynamic user-interface and is capable to adapt to the properties of a particular device. By implementing the LaRoomy transmission-protocol, every device with Bluetooth-GATT connectivity can be used in conjunction with the LaRoomy app. The creation and provisioning of a specific app for a device is not necessary and the implementation and control via Bluetooth can be provided quickly and efficiently.

And this is how easy it is:
Simply include the appropriate library in Visual Studio Code using PlatformIO or add the library as dependency in the Arduino IDE and define the desired properties of the device. Once the firmware has been loaded onto the board, the device can be added inside the app. During the connection process, the previously defined device properties are retrieved and a corresponding user interface, adapted to the properties of the device, is displayed.
The only thing you have to do is to implement your specific hardware functionality and connect it to the LaRoomy API framework.
