Latest Sightings is an app where visitors to the Kruger National Park, soon Pilanesberg, can share their wildlife sightings, in real time, with other visitors in the game reserve and also to users world wide.

The app is a service to visitors on safari. This utility app notifies you of sightings in your area, so that you can go and check them out for yourself in real life.
You never have to drive around the whole day seeing nothing, you can now see the magnificent big 5, such as the lion and leopard, everyday on your safari.

This is also the perfect app for wildlife lovers. Latest Sightings allows users to get their daily dose of nature, whether they are in the game park or not.

Ratings and reviews

We are from SA and visit Kruger and Pilansberg frequently. Therefore, we use the app quite a lot, but since all the paid subscription features were added, the app has really lost its value. Read some of the reviews from paid subscribers, which seems to mostly agree that even the paid version isn't much better. This week's trip app was extremely slow and not helpful at all. I deleted most of our ting as their did not seem to upload at all. at Skukuza, a lot of people seem to experience the same.

Used to be a fantastic tool, until it added paid content. I understand developers need to make their money and running costs but adding bloat into your software and having to pay for a year subscription to get around it isn't the way.

The new version works great on all my devices, plus I get alerts of sightings without missing a single one. The map accuracy is great and I'm able to get directions to a sighting by following the link on the maps page!! So easy to use and hasn't crashed once so far. Light on data and doesn't even cause my phone to overheat like other apps do. Definitely a vast improvement over the previous versions!!
