GUN, GUNGBE, EGUN, OGU, GOUN: ONE LANGUAGE

The language has several names. Speakers call it Gungbe ("gbe" means language). In English it is often written Gun, in Nigeria many people say Egun or Ogu, and in Benin and in French it is written Goun. They all refer to the same language, and this app teaches it.

ABOUT THE LANGUAGE

Gun (Gungbe) belongs to the Gbe language family of West Africa, alongside Fon and Ewe. It remains underrepresented in digital language tools. This app is built to help preserve and promote everyday use of the Gun language for a new generation of speakers.
