About this app

Legal Text Collector converts text messages to court-friendly PDF.

Preview the results for free. A one-time in-app purchase is required to unlock the share feature.

• Collects SMS and MMS
• Collects some types of Advanced Messaging (details below)
• Includes images
• Includes attachments that are not images
• Organizes messages by conversation
• Collects all messages or filters by date

Export text messages as a zip file with one PDF per conversation and share them by email, Dropbox, or any other app.

Use the printable text messages for ediscovery in your lawsuit or if you just like to print text messages. This can be used as an archive, but Text Collector is not a backup & restore program; it cannot transfer messages to a new phone.

Advanced or "Chat" messages are supported on AT&T, Metro PCS and T-Mobile, when using Samsung, LG, or Alcatel phones, but may be quirky. See https://www.legaltextcollector.com/static/non-standard-apps.html#summary-of-known-problems.

Verizon Messages+ is not supported: messages might be missing or show incorrect recipients on Verizon phones. See https://www.legaltextcollector.com/static/non-standard-apps.html#verizon-messages for alternatives.

Please also note:

• Emoji and non-European scripts are not displayed
• Individual conversations can be exported after making a collection
• Google Drive does not allow opening files within the collection zip, so the entire zip file must be downloaded to view and print messages

This is about the best $2 I've spent on my phone. With all the restrictions AT&T puts on accurately backing up text messages, this is a great tool (and the only one I could find) that saves ALL your messages (including "Advanced Messaging") and MMS photos into an easy-to-read pdf file that you can view and/or print. And that's good enough for me! The pdf files are stored in a folder on your phone which I used to directly transfer them onto my computer via a USB cord. Larger text message files may not be able to be e-mailed. And one more thing...a developer who is engaged and responsive to any issues that may arise. THANK YOU!!

Great App! Super easy to use and I'm technology challenged! Was able to download all the texts that I needed for court case. After you download your date range you can easily sort by contact name to just get the ones you want. I saved those to my Google drive and from there easily emailed to my attorney. A small fee of 1.99 to give you the share capability is awesome! I looked at other programs that were $30 plus. Can't go wrong with this one!

Absolutely fantastic app for documenting texts, and well worth paying for the full features. You are able to set a large date range of texts for a collection of texts. You can then share the texts to a shared drive such as GoogleDrive or OneDrive to view, print, and/or share from a computer. Each person's texts will be conveniently stored in their own PDF file. When you print the documents, it lists the person and their phone number so there is no questioning who is speaking in the texts.
