In Fishing, learning to read begins with a sound.
The child hears a sound — the "sss," the "fff," the "rrr" — and casts the line to catch only the fish whose words begin with that sound. Each correct fish is a step in phonemic awareness: the skill that paves the way for reading.
Fishing is part of the Let's Read Games, created by our teaching team as a complementary support to classroom work, based on research on emergent literacy and learning to read.
WHAT THE CHILD TRAINS
• Isolating the initial sound of everyday words
• Grouping words by the sound they begin with
• Ignoring fish that don't begin with the correct sound — attention and self-control
• Gesture coordination and decision-making
INSIDE THE GAME
• 14 levels, each with its own fisherman — from frog to dinosaur
• 11 sounds worked on (s, f, r, ch, v, m, n, l, c, p, d)
• Stars at each level, for the child to feel their progress
• The mascot Leiarico accompanying the adventure
• Clear sounds and images, designed for the youngest children
FOR WHOM IT IS FOR
• Parents/Guardians who want to support the first steps in reading at home, without pressure
• Educators and teachers of Preschool and 1st Cycle, as a playful reinforcement of classroom work
• Psychologists and therapists who work on phonemic awareness
Simple to Catch, designed to last just the right amount of time for a child's attention span. No ads to interrupt the game.
