In Bingo, learning to read begins with attentive listening.
The child hears a word and decides: is it on my card or not? If it is, they mark the correct cell; if not, they put it in the trash can. Each correct decision is an exercise in active listening and word recognition—the skill that underpins reading.
Bingo is part of the Let's Read Games, created by our teaching team as a complementary support to classroom work, based on research on emergent literacy and learning to read.
