If you get the EW9 earbuds, then this app is what you need for them to work. Pretty simple. Not hard to use either, pretty straightforward. I realized that you kinda need to accept all permissions this app asks for in order the app to actually work. I'm assuming this app helps with the "pause when taking earbud out" feature but you can also use it to locate the earbuds if you lose them, which is really neat. There also EQ settings, and touch settings which is also cool. I recommend these earbuds

This app doesn't work with the earphones I bought. It only works with EW9. It gives you a + button to add a device but it doesn't work. This sucks.

Why do you need an app that has traffic on the network for a simple hardware device? You state there is no private information being transferred? Returning this product!
