Letterway is a pen pal app for people who miss letters.
You write to someone far away, seal it, and send it. Then it travels. A letter does not arrive the moment you press send — it crosses the distance between you at the speed post actually moves, and lands hours or days later depending on how far it had to come. Karachi to Lisbon takes longer than Karachi to Delhi. You can watch it move across the map while you wait.
The waiting is the point. It is what makes a letter worth writing, and worth opening.

Browse people by the languages they speak, what they like writing about, and how far away they are. Or take the introduction Letterway offers you each week — one person, chosen for you, who is also waiting for a first letter.
Nobody is ranked. There is no swiping, no streak to keep, and no endless list to get to the bottom of.
WRITING
Letters are long by design. You break a wax seal to open one, and you read it as a letter rather than as a stack of messages. Reply when you have something to say — later today, or next week. Nothing on the screen is counting how long you took.
THE ATLAS AND THE ALBUM
Every letter takes a real route, and you can follow it across the world as it flies. When one arrives from a country you have not heard from before, its stamp joins your album — an engraving of that country, earned rather than bought.
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
No green dots showing who is online. No read receipts beyond the fact that a letter was opened. No public profiles, no follower counts, no algorithmic feed.
Your city is yours to show or hide, and Letterway never records or shares where you actually are — only the place you say you write from.

Everything that matters is free: writing letters, receiving them, the map, the album, and your weekly introduction.
Post is an optional subscription for people who want more of it — a wider choice of paper, ink and wax, three introductions a week instead of one, a searchable archive of everything you have ever written and received, a temporary origin for when you are travelling, and reading themes for long letters. You can use Letterway for years without it.
