About this app

NanoProxy runs a proxy server on your Android device. Other devices on the same
network — a laptop, a console, a tablet, or anything connected to your hotspot —
point at your phone and their traffic goes out through it.
Everything below is free. Nothing is time-limited.
━━ WHAT IT DOES ━━
• SOCKS5, SOCKS4/4a and HTTP on the same pair of ports. Each listener detects
the protocol automatically, so swapping the port numbers still works.
• SOCKS5 UDP (UDP ASSOCIATE) for QUIC/HTTP3, game consoles and real-time audio
and video. Most phone proxy apps are TCP-only.
• Works alongside the phone's own VPN. If a VPN is active, client traffic goes
into the tunnel too — this is the whole reason the app exists, and it needs
no root.
• Username and password authentication, so an open port on a café Wi-Fi isn't
an open relay.
• IPv6 listening, PAC auto-configuration, and a QR code so a laptop can be set
up without typing an address.
━━ WHILE IT RUNS ━━
• A live traffic chart, updated every second. A break in the line is a break in
the connection — that alone answers most "is it still working?" questions.
• Every connected device listed with its own byte counts, so you can tell which
one is using the bandwidth.
• An event log you can filter, search and export.
• Pre-flight checks that catch the usual problems before you start: port already
taken, battery optimisation set to kill the service, no local network
permission.
━━ WHAT IT DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO ━━
• No VpnService. NanoProxy never asks for the VPN permission and never
intercepts your own apps' traffic. It only relays connections that clients
explicitly send to it.
• No account, no server of ours. Nothing leaves your local network by way of
NanoProxy. There is no analytics SDK and no advertising.
• No background data collection. The log stays on your device unless you
export it yourself.

━━ REQUIREMENTS ━━
Android 8.0 or newer. No root. The clients you want to proxy must be able to
reach your phone — the same Wi-Fi, or connected to its hotspot.

What’s new

Settings that restart the proxy now wait for you.

• Ports, listen address, authentication, PAC, remote log and egress each have a Save button. Nothing is applied until you tap it, and leaving with unsaved changes asks first.
• If saving would cut connections in progress, you are told how many before it happens.
• Diagnostic settings such as log retention no longer interrupt connected devices.
• The password field now has a show/hide button.
