The selection of entries was obtained from consultations with the most renowned musical sources, from which the semantic network of music and the respective definitions were developed.

Each term, if not language-specific, is displayed and searchable in six languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese), making Enhedu the most comprehensive musical glossary ever published.

In fact, an important instrument for studying musical theory and analyzing the works that made the history of music.

The Music Ontology developed here represents a unique tool for presenting musical knowledge in a (Semantic) Network, making consultation more effective and objective.

For example, the term “acciaccatura” is linked to “ornament” as a broader member (generalization) which, in turn, has “score notation” as a broader type, and this has “notation” as a broader type. "Notation", in turn, contains specializations (narrower types): System Notation, Directive Notation, Sheet, Score Notation and Instrument Notation.
Examples of other Semantic Relations:
• Similarity - e.g. (hurdy-gurdy <-> organistrum)
• Also see - e.g. (slide <-> glissando)

Its interface has superior functionalities:
• Offline use.
• All dictionaries are integrated with each other, that is, from a word in the definition in one of them, you can obtain, if it exists, the definition of this word in the other dictionaries.
• Translates, copies, and shares entry information.
• Querying entries from external applications (browsers, text editors, etc.)
• Multiple Lists of entries (e.g. Favorite, LearningWords, etc.) created/imported/exported and shared by users.
• The ontological knowledge base allows you to navigate between entries that are linked by semantic concepts.

The following themes of musical knowledge are covered, each with several sub-themes and so on: Period, Musical Genre, Technique, Instrument, Composition, Movement, Structure Form, Theme, Performance, Notation, Tonality, Harmony, Tone, Tempo, Device, Ensemble, Texture, Style, Metric, Dynamics, Ornamentation, Place, Musician, Anthology, School, Music Education, Theory.
