The Major Timeline app combines its use of the Major System or word-to-number mnemonic system, with the year and date of events to creatively memorize dates by using a few words.
It does this by creating two separate words to represent the year and date, or by combining the year and date to allow creation and selection of more words.
For example the words DRoPiN PoaCHer can represent the date: 1492-96 September 6th 1492. This is the day Christopher Columbus sails across from the Canary Islands signifying crossing the Atlantic for the first time.
