About this app

The Official MeshCore Companion App!

MeshCore is a simple, secure, off-grid mesh communications system.
Build your own low-cost, long-range, encrypted messaging network.
You can still send messages even when WiFi, Cellular, and Starlink are down.

To use this app, you must have a supported LoRa radio device, that has been flashed with the MeshCore Companion Firmware.

Once you've installed the app, you will need to:
- Pair with your MeshCore device using Bluetooth.
- Set a custom display name.
- and, Configure your LoRa radio settings.

That's it! You can now advertise yourself on the network using the signal icon, and send messages to other users you have discovered on the same frequency.

When other devices on the network have been discovered, they will show up in your contacts list.

For more information, please visit the MeshCore website.

App works great! Was able to connect right away and chat in public, discover other nodes, login to a repeater without issue. As a new user to mesh I appreciate the intuitive design to the app. I installed it on older phones and discovered that you may have to turn GPS on for it to connect to your device. Seems like the bad reviews are small nit picking issues not about the functionality of the app. Works great. Oh and if there's no one to connect to, be the person to get the word out.

MeshCore is in a very reliable state right now. I'm having a very good experience with it and my single complaint is that while I am in a conversation with someone, I am still receiving notifications that they are messaging me. Other than that it's working well. Glad the team lost some dead weight recently. It will all pan out.

Hey there! Thanks for the review :) I am planning to rewrite the bluetooth connection management so it will run in a background service on android. This should allow it to work when the app is closed.

I keep needing to re-pair BT. Using a Heltec V3, but had the same problem with a RAK4631 I have reflashed/erased the devices and every couple of attempt it does work, however having to remove the node from the BT list and repairing it is not workable. The app does see the node but seems unable to fetch info from it. Clicking advert in the app does seem to activate the nodes LED so it is partially connected. An update of the app and firmware did not fix. Shows many garbled messages now.

Hey, thanks for the review :) Unfortunately this sounds like an issue with the Heltec v3. You may need to erase it and reflash it. Unfortunately this isn't anything caused by the app, and the app can't fix this issue. Maybe join our Discord and someone can help if you can't figure it out.

What’s new

- added ability to search messages
- added button to quick scroll to bottom of conversation
- added ability to filter discover list/map by advert path hash size
- added ability to use discover list for resolving known nodes
- added ability to configure default region for companion/repeater
- added czech, portuguese, russian and ukrainian translations
- accessing discover contacts screen is now allowed when node is disconnected
