About this app

Mes Recettes is the family meal app: it’s where you decide together what to eat, and where you keep the whole family’s recipes, from grandma’s pie to the curry you finally got right. Everyone on their own phone, Android or iPhone.

WHAT’S FOR DINNER?
The question comes up every day; here, a vote settles it. Pick 2 to 8 recipes from the cookbook, choose lunch or dinner, and start the vote. The family gets a notification and votes in the app. Everyone picks one or more recipes they’d like, and can change their mind while the vote is open. You see who voted for what, the vote in progress shows at the top of the cookbook with the leading recipe, and you close the vote once it’s decided. Even quicker: long-press a recipe, pick a few more, and put them to a vote.

SHARE THE POLL WITH ANYONE YOU WANT
Grandparents, the babysitter, tonight’s guests: send them the poll. One simple link, and everyone has their say with just their first name, no account needed. The shared poll only shows the title and first photo of the recipes you chose to put to the vote, and it closes when the vote ends. If they have the app, the link opens right in it.

ONE COOKBOOK, WRITTEN BY THE WHOLE FAMILY
You create your family and invite your people with a link or a QR code. Everyone sees the same recipes, anyone can add or complete one, photos included (up to 12 per recipe). Whatever the phone: a recipe added on an iPhone shows up on the family’s Android phones, and the other way round. When someone adds a recipe, the others are told: “Nóri added Gulyás”. Under each recipe, comments keep everyone’s tips. The family owner chooses who can edit and who can only read.

SIGN IN WITH GOOGLE
Your Google account is only used to recognize you: on a new phone, sign in with the same account and your cookbook and your family are there. Everything happens in the family cookbook. Voting from a link needs no account.

YOUR RECIPES, YOUR WAY
A name, ingredients, quantities written the way you say them (“2 generous spoonfuls”, “a drizzle”), the link to the original recipe or a photo of the cookbook page. Nothing is mandatory.

REMEMBER WHAT YOU COOKED
One button, “I cooked it today”, and the app keeps the history. The “Rediscover” sort brings up what you haven’t made in a long time: handy ideas for the next vote.

FIND IT WITHOUT SEARCHING
Search by name or by ingredient, whether it was written in English, French or Hungarian. Filter by category or by member, sort by name or by date. Same recipe written down twice? The app offers to merge them without losing anything.

TRULY OFFLINE
Opening the cookbook, reading a recipe, adding one: none of it needs a network. Syncing picks up again as soon as you get a signal, and everyone’s changes come together without overwriting anything. Only the vote needs a connection.

A HAND FROM AI, IF YOU WANT IT
Take a photo of a dish or a cookbook page: AI suggests a title, the ingredients and the categories, which you review and edit as you like. Photos are only sent to OpenAI when you ask for it.

YOUR DATA
The family cookbook is stored on our server in Europe (Ireland), encrypted in transit and at rest, and shared only with the members of your family. Each vote, photos included, is deleted automatically 7 days after it was created, or right away if you delete it.

IN YOUR LANGUAGE
In English, French and Hungarian, following your phone’s language; on Android 13 and later, you can also set it per app.

A Belgian app, with no ads and no advertising tracking.
What’s for dinner? Share the poll with anyone you want. And the family cookbook.

What’s new

New: “What’s for dinner?”. Suggest 2 to 8 recipes for lunch or dinner, the family votes in the app, and you can share the poll with anyone you want.

The current vote shows at the top of the cookbook; long-press a recipe to pick several and put them to a vote.

You can delete your account from the “Your cookbook” screen, even without a family. The same activity no longer triggers several notifications.
