About this app

Life in Moons counts your life the oldest way there is: in full moons.

Not in days, which slip by uncounted, or years, which are too large to feel. Every person who has ever lived looked up at the same moon you will see tonight. It is the one clock we have always shared.

A long life holds only about a thousand full moons. That is the whole thing, here on one screen: the moons behind you, lit; the moon above you now, breathing; the ones still ahead, waiting as faint outlines.

The app asks nothing of you. There is no streak to keep, no number to raise. But each moon will hold whatever you give it:

• A reflection — a few words on where you were when it rose.
• A photograph — a memory kept beside the moon it belongs to.
• A milestone worth remembering — or an empty moon, left empty forever.

Open any moon to find its exact date, its true phase, and whatever you have set inside it. A quiet marker appears on the moons you have filled, so your life slowly writes itself across the grid.

At the bottom, a small living moon shows tonight's real phase, the date of the last full moon, and the countdown to the next.

When you want to hold it in your hands, you can print it — your whole life in moons, laid out to hang on a wall.

Everything stays on your phone. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no servers. Your birthday, your reflections, your photographs — all of it lives on your device and nowhere else.

Its only real purpose is perspective: to set each passing moon within the whole span of your days. So that as the moons come and go, cycle after cycle, you feel it — the quiet gift of being here to see another one rise.

Enjoy the journey, one moon cycle at a time.
A long life is about a thousand full moons. See yours, all on one screen.
