MotionKeeper extracts the video hiding inside your motion photos and saves each motion photo as a standalone MP4 video you can keep.

WORKS WITH ANDROID MOTION PHOTOS
MotionKeeper is a motion photo video extractor for Android. It finds Google Camera motion photos, as shot on Pixel phones, and Samsung Galaxy HEIC motion photos. It does not support Apple Live Photos, which keep their video in a separate file.
ORIGINAL QUALITY - NOTHING IS RE-ENCODED
MotionKeeper copies the exact video bytes out of your photo. There is no transcoding and no resizing, so the saved MP4 is the clip exactly as your camera recorded it.
YOUR ORIGINAL PHOTO IS NEVER CHANGED
The source photo is opened read-only and is never written to. Your motion photo stays exactly as it was, video still inside.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Scans your photo gallery and lists the Samsung and Google Camera motion photos it finds.
- Works as a motion photo viewer: plays the hidden clip in the app, looping, before you save anything.
- Saves the video straight to your gallery, in its own DCIM/MotionKeeper album.
- Pulls out stills: drag through the clip and save any moment as a JPEG at the video frame’s full resolution.
EVERY SAVE IS CHECKED
Before it reaches your gallery, MotionKeeper opens the extracted clip in a real media player and confirms it has a genuine duration. After the save, it re-reads the new gallery video and checks the duration still matches. Anything that only half-saved is listed on a Failed Extractions screen, so you can retry it instead of losing it silently.
PICK THE BEST MOMENT, ON DEVICE
The best frame is not always the one you kept. Drag to the moment you actually wanted and save it as a photo at the video frame’s full resolution. MotionKeeper can also suggest a frame: it samples nine moments and scores each on detected faces, edge sharpness and exposure, all on your phone.
PORTABLE ARCHIVE
Pair your original photos with their saved videos in hash-checked ZIP volumes that restore independently, and send them anywhere through the Android share menu. Each volume holds up to 256 MB and 500 pairs, with up to 8 volumes per export. Later, open an archive in MotionKeeper again and restore both halves.
