Salestrail uses device automation APIs to detect call events instantly:

Automatic Call Recording Pickup (Only if Device Supports It)
If your Android device has native, built-in call recording, Salestrail will automatically detect the recording file generated by the system and attach it to the corresponding call log in your CRM or dashboard — in real time.
Salestrail does not initiate recording or modify recordings.
It only detects and attaches files created by the device’s built-in call recorder.


Smart Automation Rules
Choose what gets tracked: call types, SIM card, or time windows. Once configured, Salestrail automates logging so your data flows seamlessly in the background.

CRM Sync
Integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Microsoft Dynamics, and other platforms to keep your call activity consistent across systems.

Works Offline
If your phone is temporarily offline, Salestrail queues the call events and syncs them automatically when the connection returns.

Permissions & transparency 🌟

Salestrail uses only the permissions needed to perform its core automation features. Without these permissions, the app cannot detect or log calls and attach recordings automatically.

Call Information / Call Logs – Used to detect call events (incoming, outgoing, missed) and sync them as call activities.

Contacts – Used to match numbers with names in your CRM or device contacts for accurate reporting.

File Storage/Read Media Files – One of Salestrail's core functionalities is to pick up call recordings from your device and automatically attach them with the data we store, and hence Salestrail needs this permission. Salestrail does not record audio — it only detects and attaches system-generated recordings to the call log. This requires permission to read the recording file created by the device and pick it up automatically. The use case or Salestrail is device automation and hence call recordings needs to be attached automatically.

Notifications and/or Accessibility (if enabled) – Used only to detect WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business call events for tracking; no message or screen content is ever read or stored.

Network Access – Used to securely sync your call data to the cloud dashboard or CRM.

The only reason I tried it: they promised call recording high quality. Well, it's not. I don't even understand why a voice call has to be recorded in an mp4 video file. I thought high quality would be flac or at least 320kb mp3. Tried all settings. There are much, much better applications than this.

Tell me one single useful thing about this app as a user. Hangs after every call, constantly we have to uninstall and install again. Not logging the calls. Not making the work easy. Instead consuming a hell lot of time. It only resulted in making me less productive in my work !! Kindly think twice about the performance before applying such restrictions on employees.

I have been using the app for about a month bow and I'm very happy with it! It could be great If I could create and update my SF opportunities as well. Anyway, I got it mainly for logging in calls and caller ID to Salesforce and it functions much better than other apps I've tried before. The main benefit it that all calls are being logged in to Salesforce without me opening the app.
