The audio content is excellent, but the app is poor. The function to download offline is extremely clunky and often doesn't work, which is unforgivable given the high subscription price. I also think more languages should be available for the subscription price, as the pricing model for multiple languages is prohibitively expensive and offers poor value. If I was them, I'd bin this app and pricing strategy, and start from scratch looking at a model used by someone like Chairman's Bao.

There has definitely been improvements from previous app versions, and the language learning content is great, however the app has several problems meaning I still just use the website. First, the offline download feature doesn't work, I tried downloading an episode and couldn't exit the app until the slow download finished. Then when I go offline, the app is trying to search for data and won't show the downloaded content. Second, you can't access the courses content, which is a real shame!

The 'News in Slow Spanish' content is great, but the app is just featureless. There's no progress tracking, no linking to relevant content or tagging to cross reference, and really... nothing beyond a long list of audio with a brief description. £20 a month feels too expensive for the news each week in an app without features. If the app ever becomes an app, and not just a low-effort shell, I'll take another look. And if they hit a £10/month sweet spot too, it'd be a no-brainer.
